You'll know it when you see it.
The Grand Central sits on the corner of Punt Road in the middle of Cobram, with the wheat silos rising up behind it and the Carlton sign on the roof. Two storeys, wraparound verandah, same corner since 1902.
Coming through on the Murray Valley Highway, it's a short turn into town — we're in the town centre, not out on the highway strip. Barooga is over the bridge, and Strathmerton, Yarroweyah, Tocumwal and Numurkah are all an easy run.
Walk in and the front bar is straight ahead, the bistro is off to the side, and the beer garden is out the back. No booking needed for a drink or a spot in the garden — for a table in the bistro on a Friday or a Parma Night Thursday, ring ahead.

- Do we need to book?
- Not usually. Walk-ins are fine most nights. For a group, a Friday, or Thursday Parma Night, give us a ring and we’ll put a table aside.
- Can we bring the dog?
- Yes — the beer garden is dog-friendly, and the whole bistro menu is served out there.
- Is there something for the kids?
- A kids menu at $12.90 for under 12s, and it comes with an ice cream cone. There’s a seniors menu too.
- What time does the kitchen stop?
- Lunch runs 12 to 2 and dinner 5 to 8, Tuesday through Sunday. The bar keeps going after the kitchen closes.
- Are you open Mondays?
- No — closed Mondays. Back open Tuesday from 11am.
- Can we get it to take home?
- Yes, pick-up or delivery across Cobram and district, ordered online.
