The new site, and what's on the board this week

A new home for the Grand Central — the whole menu, the week's events, and whether the kitchen is still on.

We have given the website a proper going over. Same pub, same corner, same parma — but you can now find what you actually came looking for without squinting at a PDF on your phone.

The whole menu, on the page

The full bistro menu is here now, section by section: parmas and schnitzels, burgers, pastas, the salads, the kids and seniors meals, and every topper and gravy with its price. If you want the printed version there is still a PDF, but you no longer have to download anything to find out what a Traditional costs.

Whether we are open, right now

The question we get asked most on the phone is whether the kitchen is still going. The top of every page now answers it: whether we are open, what the kitchen is doing, and what is on tonight. It reads the real clock, so it is right whether you are checking at four in the afternoon or half past nine.

What's on, on the wall

Anyone who has eaten in the bistro knows the coaster wall. We have put the week up there the same way — a coaster for each night, and you can pick one up and turn it over to see what it involves. Poker on Tuesdays and Sundays, trivia every second Wednesday, Parma Night and Happy Hour on Thursday, Joker Poker on Friday, and free pool all day Sunday.

The rest of it

Thursday nights are still nine parmas. The beer garden is still the best place in Cobram to sit with a dog at your feet. The taps still ice over.

We're not fancy. We're not trying to be.

Come in and see us.

A proper country local on the corner of Punt Road in Cobram, since 1902. Good food, cold drinks, great company.
